Wallpaper Trends We’re Loving from Paris Déco Off 2026
This year was our first time attending Paris Déco Off, and it immediately shifted the way we look at walls, materials, and the role they play in a space. Experiencing the show as it unfolded throughout the city, rather than inside a convention hal,l made everything feel more immersive and connected. Paris wasn’t just the backdrop. It was part of the story.
Moving between showrooms, streets, and neighborhoods gave us a deeper understanding of where wallcoverings and textiles are headed, and why. What stood out right away was how thoughtful everything felt. Nothing was trying to be shocking or “new” just for the sake of it. Everything felt intentional, with designs that were layered and grounded in real, lived-in stories. Here’s a look at what inspired us most and why it’s shaping the way we think about walls right now.
Globally Inspired Patterns
Patterns pulled from cultures all over the world, but nothing felt literal or themed. You could sense the global influence, but it showed up in a quieter, more livable way. Even the simpler designs had depth that was visible in texture rather than pattern. It felt like a clear shift away from rooms that look styled and toward spaces that feel collected over time.
Immersive Murals
Murals were everywhere and completely captivating. We of course saw tons of huge scenic murals, but there were also abstract landscapes, architectural illusions, and painterly botanicals. They wrapped the rooms in a way that felt intentional and transportive, completely changing how the spaces felt.
Texture
Texture played a huge role, but rarely on its own. Grasscloths, woven papers, and textile-inspired walls often had patterns woven right into them. Subtle movement, quiet geometry, tonal designs you really notice up close. Softer palettes, larger-scale weaves, and just a hint of metallic made everything feel warm and elevated, never rustic or heavy.
Performance Materials
A very exciting evolution was the variety of performance papers, this honestly felt like a game changer. Wallcoverings that look like linen, silk, plaster, or grasscloth, many with patterns built into the surface, but durable enough for kitchens, baths, hallways, and real life. It felt like a true shift. Finally, beauty without having to compromise.
Beyond the Showrooms
Some of the most meaningful inspiration didn’t come from the showrooms at all. It showed up while wandering flea markets and stepping into vintage shops without much of a plan. I kept noticing how often the most beautiful textiles were a little worn, a little faded, and somehow better because of it. Colors layered in ways that felt instinctive, not planned. Patterns that didn’t try to be perfect, but felt right.
Walking through Paris has a way of slowing you down. The architecture does a lot of the work on its own. Worn stone, iron details, small moments you only notice when you’re paying attention. Fashion windows reflected many of the same ideas we’re seeing on the walls. Texture, layering, craftsmanship. Nothing too flashy or trying too hard, just a quiet confidence.
What stayed with me was how connected everything felt. Even though the collections we saw at the show represent what’s current and emerging, they still felt deeply tied to the city itself. The interiors echoed what we were noticing as we walked through Paris, It all felt like part of the same visual rhythm.
What Does this Mean for Your Future Projects?
For homeowners, these trends translate into spaces that feel personal and grounded. Walls that tell a story. Rooms that invite you in rather than impress from afar. Wallpaper is no longer a bold moment reserved for one room. Globally inspired patterns and murals allow rooms to feel layered and expressive without overwhelming the home. Wallpaper has become the connective tissue that brings a home together.
For interior designers, this shift opens up enormous creative freedom. Globally inspired patterns allow for richer layering. Murals offer architectural impact without construction. Performance papers remove old limitations and make wallpaper viable in spaces that once felt off-limits (think bathrooms, kitchens…).
Across the board, the shift is toward confidence. Selecting wallpaper isn’t about being brave, it is becoming a natural part of your home design process.
Bringing Paris Back to the Showroom
What came back with us wasn’t a checklist of trends. It was a renewed appreciation for craftsmanship and design that feels lived in rather than styled. Our showroom now reflects what we experienced firsthand. Collections that celebrate global influence. Murals that transform rooms. Textures you want to touch. Performance papers designed for real homes and real lives.
